Winter Wonderland Tree Centerpieces

Winter Wonderland Centerpieces on a budget!

Our youth group had a fundraiser to help pay for their ski trip.  They needed decorations that were cost friendly, but still conveyed a theme.
Here's a great way to create 12 beautiful Winter Wonderland Centerpieces on a budget!
Things you'll need

12 flimsy plastic flower pots (I got these in packs of 6 from the Dollar Tree) Cost for all 12 = $2
1 bag of sand around $3 (I already had the sand from previous projects)
Sticks from the woods FREE (:
Snowflake ornaments (we had planned on using more of these but I left 2 packs of them at home so we used one pack of 12 for one large snowflake per tree; if you buy these during Christmas you can actually get them for around $1 per pack) 12 packs $5 each
2 sizes of circle labels (1 pack each) $6 for both
2 Packages of floss (I got mine free with a coupon (: ) $4
1 roll of Extra Wide White Ribbon $4
1 yard of white "snow" fabric $2
1 package of snowflake charms (I got a pack of 100 from Amazon) $10
3 Styrofoam cubes $9
1 spool of thread (I used some I had around the house, you could also use monofilament (fishing line)) $1

1. cut Styrofoam cubes and arrange into flower pots.
2. Arrange branches in pots securing them into the Styrofoam
3. Pour sand on top of Styrofoam and around branches (it's best to use a wetter sand so it's a little heavier to balance the weight of the branch
4. Add circle labels to floss in a random arrangement.  (this is supposed to look like falling snow so it shouldn't be equal distances apart or all the same sizes, etc)
5. Drape floss strands over branches so they hang straight down
6. String snow flake charms onto thread or monofilament at different lengths
7. Add ornaments and charms to trees (be sure and make it pretty even with the number of charms/ornaments on each tree - since we only used one ornament per tree we put it at the top and filled in with the charms and floss string)
8. Cut white fabric into 12 squares and arrange around pot (I cut a slit in the fabric so it would fit nicely around the branch)
9. Cut ribbon into 12 equal pieces and arrange around white fabric (I folded and fluffed where necessary)
10.  If you have any left over canned snow from Christmas this would be the perfect time to use it!

Hope you enjoy this craft as much as we did!!!
